Grease Traps

In catering and food service establishments the waste water is discharged from the kitchen areas into waste water pipe systems (manufactured in polymer or metal) these then discharge into a 110mm or 160mm Soil Pipe. A long radius bend would be the preferred pipe fitting connecting directly into the main waste water drainage system.

It is important to provide access for cleaning in both the waste and soil systems. Oil and grease in a liquid state do not appear to be harmful but as these congeal and cool they cause restrictions in flow rates and sometimes blockages. These can result in a build up that then can prevent sewage discharge, which may prevent treatment plants from working.

Grease Traps Cyprus

Drain Tech Cyprus with the Marsh range of Grease Traps are usually fitted either at the source in the kitchen area or before entering the main sewer line. The traps are designed to limit the amount of oil, fat and grease from entering the sewage system. It is important to consult the local Building Control Offices to ensure compliance.

As stated earlier the Grease Trap should be installed as close as possible to the source of contamination, ensuring provision is provided to cool the discharge from dishwashers before entering the grease trap, this must be adhered to, to ensure the removal of oil, grease and fat from the final discharge before entering the sewage system or network.

We also offer a full range of Silt Traps to be installed prior to sewage treatment and separator systems please contact us for further information.
